On Fathers Day in 1997, Thomas Joseph Doherty's family gathered at his home to celebrate. The next day, June 16, he passed away at the card table where he had just finished eating his dinner. Thomas worked a variety of jobs including insurance salesman and lineman for Southwestern Bell Telephone. He was the father of seven and grandfather of fifteen, though his youngest was born after his death. A proud Irishman, he loved pinochle and drank Diet Dr. Pepper. His obituary is below.
