On February 25, 1903 Gustavus G. A. Herzog and Sarah Jane Sweetin were married by Rev. J. S. Harris in Cuba, Missouri. GGA had recently turned 32 but Sarah was only 16. Despite the startling age difference they remained together until GGA's death in 1955. Of course in order for Sarah to get married her father William H. Sweetin had to give his permission, which he did. Their marriage license is below.
