On June 25, 1899, in the family home at 5227 N. 20th Street in St. Louis, Henry Ring was born to Michael Ring and Margaret Fussner. He was named after his uncle Henry Fussner, but went by Harry his entire life. He was baptized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on July 2, 1899 and he made his first communion there on May. 22, 1912.
An averaged sized man with blue eyes and dark hair, Harry went to work for Fulton Iron as a machinist. He worked there for over thirteen years before going to work for his sister Josephine at St. Louis County Cleaning and Dyeing. Around 1933, Harry was scalded in a work accident badly damaging his right leg. Sadly, he never recover from the accident and committed suicide on September 11, 1938. The story of his death was picked up by the Associated Press and reported across the country. He was buried in Calvary Cemetery on September 14. His parents are buried with him.
