A Trip to Breezy Point Lodge

Breezy Point Lodge was a popular resort in Minnesota on Pelican Lake. It was opened in June of 1925 and quickly became a destination for the rich and famous. In the summer of 1931 it hosted three of our ancestors, Emil and Maude Niehaus and their daughter Catharine. Their vacation was reported by the Post Dispatch on August 10, 1931. Sadly, the grand lodge which could host 700 visitors was destroyed by fire on June 20, 1959. Other structures at the resort were saved and Breezy Point Resort is still in operation today.
